India Showcases Rich Heritage at Jeddah Charity Event

JEDDAH. The Consulate General of India in Jeddah participated in the 10th edition of “A Cup for a Good Cause,” an annual charity event organized by the AlOula Women’s Welfare Society, held at Park Hyatt Jeddah from February 5-7.

The Indian Pavilion, curated by the Indian Consulate Spouses Association Jeddah (ICSAJ) under the leadership of President Mrs. Fahmina Khatoon, became one of the most visited attractions during the three-day event. The pavilion displayed India’s vibrant cultural heritage through traditional handicrafts, jewelry, traditional attire, and authentic Indian cuisine that captivated visitors throughout the event.

On the opening day, Consul General of India Shri Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri attended the programme and praised the organizers for their charitable initiative. He expressed the Consulate’s commitment to supporting activities that foster community engagement and strengthen people-to-people connections between India and Saudi Arabia.

Talented young Indian artists performed traditional cultural shows on all three days of the event, showcasing India’s diverse artistic traditions. The performances received warm appreciation from attendees and served as a highlight of India’s participation.

India’s involvement in this community-focused cultural event underscored the importance of cultural exchange in promoting mutual understanding and goodwill between nations. The successful participation demonstrated how cultural initiatives can bring communities together while supporting charitable causes.
