Abeer Medical Group Praised for Major Hajj Healthcare Effort

Jeddah. Abeer Medical Group successfully ran healthcare services for pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season. Saudi Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel visited the team and thanked them personally for their work.

This year marked a significant expansion for Abeer. In the past, the organization ran small urgent care clinics. This time, they took on the full responsibility of running Mina Al-Wadi Hospital, a 200-bed facility located in the heart of the holy sites where pilgrims gather during Hajj.

Over several weeks, hundreds of pilgrims from dozens of countries came to the hospital seeking medical care. The hospital team worked around the clock to treat patients and ensure their safety so they could complete their pilgrimage.

“Last year we ran urgent medical clinics. This year, the stakes were higher, and the responsibility was vast. But our mission remained the same,” said Dr. Ahmed Alungal, Executive Vice President of Abeer Medical Group.

Back in Makkah, Abeer’s main hospital, Saudi National Hospital, also expanded its services. The hospital opened a new intensive care unit to handle seriously ill patients. During the Hajj period, doctors at the hospital performed more than 100 heart catheterization procedures, a complex medical treatment for heart patients.

The operation required a large team effort. For more than a month, doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support staff worked continuously across both Makkah and Mina to provide medical care to pilgrims. The leadership team, including President Alungal Muhammed and Executive Vice President Ahmed Alungal, oversaw the entire operation along with other senior doctors and administrators.
