JEDDAH. The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, in partnership with King Fahad Public Library and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), held “Windows to the Philippines: Stories, Culture, and Art Through Books,” a Filipiniana book display at King Fahad Public Library on 19 November 2025 in celebration of Philippine Book Development Month.
Consul General Rommel Romato formally handed over Filipiniana books from the NCCA to Dr. Abdullah Alahmadi, CEO of King Fahad Public Library, for inclusion in both the male and female sections of the library. The curated collection from the Consulate’s Sentro Rizal library showcases Philippine art, culture, history, cuisine, and traditions, giving Saudi and international readers a window into Philippine stories and creativity.
Consul General Romato also led a storytelling session of “The Queen Whom Love Forgot,” an English retelling of a classic Philippine legend, for 50 middle and high school students from Al Afaq International School and Jeddah International School.
A tourism corner at the library entrance, with brochures and a video presentation from the Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines, invited visitors to explore Philippine destinations.
